 Effluent Treatment

DyeCat's dye effluent treatment technology in action; Demonstrations have been completed with disperse, reactive and complex dyes. The removal of excess dyes from waste streams is problematic in the dyeing industry. Specifically in the textile industry, large quantities of water are used and in many cases, this is disposed to the environment with inadequate treatment. The disposed effluent contains large concentrations of salts and organic materials and hence is difficult to treat.
With strict control measures in place in many EU countries and even trace amounts of dye causing aesthetically unacceptable effluent, effective dye removal is essential.
The reduction of water consumption is also vital for sustainable processes.
DyeCat has developed a novel flocculation agent which, unlike current solutions, is effective against a range of dye types.
The active agent is produced from a natural, renewable, waste by-product and can be manufactured by a very low energy, low impact, manufacturing process.
